Fuse Civils contracted for al fresco dining improvement works for Supermarket Giant

Fuse Civils has been appointed as subcontractor to carry out infrastructure works across Waitrose stores around the North of England and Scotland as the supermarket revamps and increases its outdoor seating areas at 100 stores.
Yorkshire-based civil engineering firm, Fuse Civils has already carried out work on stores in York and Formby near Liverpool with a third job due to start in Sheffield next week (w/c 28th March).
The scope of works in relation to improving the outdoor seating areas at existing stores include:-
- Scanning for existing underground services (and protection of same if found)
- Removal of existing ram raid bollards
- Removal of other existing furniture and features
- Installation of new ram raid bollards and barriers for new seating areas
- Installation of posts for parasols for seating area
- Re-siting/replacement of cycle hoops and racks
- Reinstatement of existing block paving
Each project can take Fuse around a week to complete and the civil engineering company – which delivers a range of civil engineering solutions including Highways, Residential Infrastructure and Groundworks – is hoping to complete improvement works for between 50-100 stores.
A spokesperson for Waitrose said that the store is always looking for ways to improve.
They said: “We want to ensure we continue to give our customers’ the best possible shopping experience so we can maintain our levels of service and help attract shoppers”.
“The outdoor seating areas have proved very popular and we want to continue to create a more welcoming and vibrant environment outside our stores where possible”.
